The Derby Shoe, a brief description
A bit more casual than the oxford, the derby features an open lacing system, with the quarters sewn on top of the vamp. The derby is a classic style that never goes out of style. The derby is perfect for any casual look and can also be dressed up with a suit and tie.
Full Calf Lined Interior
These shoes are fully-lined with soft calfskin leather, which means ultimate comfort. Most companies will only partially line their shoes, but we go the extra mile because it means a more comfortable shoe and less break-in time.
The Seville Shoe Last
Used on some of our most refined hand finished shoes, the Seville shoe last is the result of many rounds of refinement to create the perfect men's formal last. Featuring a soft chisel toe and a long elegant vamp, this is a great go-to last for a classic suit shoe.
Blake Stitched By Hand
This style is constructed using the Blake method. It’s characterized by a double binding (blake and rapid, precisely): while the first attaches upper, lining and insole; the second one secures the insole and outside sole together. The shoes are therefore easy to resole, and have greater flexibility.
Meet the Classic Leather Sole
There are many reasons why leather has been used for centuries for soles: it's hardwearing, flexible, practical, long lasting and beautiful. It's usually considered the dressiest of all soles, gets that designation because it has the slimmest profile, so it looks best with your dress pants. It is painted by hand, and then brushed by our artisans for an impeccable finish.
